Raw Elements

This is one of my favorite photos. I shot it right before a storm, NO post editing, adjustments or touch up needed. No flash. I adjusted my settings and trusted the process for what my eye could see. I captured this exactly 10 years, in Independence, Missouri. Using a pattern meter mode, 1/10 f-stop and 24mm lens...the raw elements made that shot for me that day, and I was excited to capture the moment. It brings me back to a recent session. The client told me that she preferred the unedited photo as is, versus the edited version. The crazy part is that, as an experienced photographer...my 1st instinct was to leave it as is, but I followed standard procedures and attempted to "get more" out of the image. Everything was already there, I just needed to capture it raw. Sometimes your raw desire, talent, eye for things and/or ambition are all that's needed. Trust yourself and the process. As I work through this carefully crafted rebrand...I'm seeing more and more it's all here. Now I need to share it...freely and unfiltered.
